Dad,
Today, one year ago, we celebrated your life in the church you loved so much. Now I am in Illinois to watch Kendall graduate from college tomorrow! I know you are very proud of her, and all the kids, and I will be thinking of you as she gets her diploma. We all love you, Pop.

Dear Pop,
One year ago, today, we said not goodbye but Godspeed. I hope you have enjoyed your first Heavenly year! So much has happened here since you've been gone but we have often talked about you, laughed, and yes, even cried- so you have been a part of everything. I miss you, Daddy, but I am so grateful for your many lessons. Mom, Mike, Pete, all the family, and I love you so much.
Your Betsy

Pop,
Mom came through her eye surgery just beautifully. I was glad I could be here for her, as I know you would have wanted to be yourself. She and I have talked about you quite a bit today. Today is the 5th month anniversary of Lauren and DJ getting married-can you believe it? You have missed so much. I love and miss you every day.

Hi Pop,
It's impossible to believe that 11 months have passed since we gathered to say GodSpeed to you on May 4th. Mom is having eye surgery soon-don't worry, I'll take good care of her. I'll be with her on her first wedding anniversary without you, too. I love and miss you so much.

Daddy,
It's Thursday, February 7th. Monday was the nine month anniversary of your leaving us, and yesterday was a year to the day that you got your diagnosis. We knew then that everything was going to change, but still we soldiered on. you, most of all, your strength, dignity and hope intact. You leaned on your faith. And although the prayer that you would stay with us was not answered, the prayer for your recovery was. You are whole, and well,

Hey Pop,
Mom's Birthday, and our first Christmas and New Year's without you have come and gone. We missed you so much. I decorated the tree for mom, and hung the stockings over the fireplace, but it wasn't the same without you. We love you, Daddy.

Happy 80th Birthday, Pop. I would have loved to have had you here to celebrate this milestone birthday with you, but I am the luckiest girl in the world to have had you in my life so long. I love and miss you very much.

Jim was always such a sweet man with a quick smile and kind word. I saw he and Barbara many times while I worked at the hospital. They were such partners and clearly loved one another very much.

Jim was one of my fraternity pledge brothers. The night we finished pledging and Hell Week just before we were formally initiated, I stayed overnight at his house at Southside Country Club. We had a six piece fraternity Dixieland Band when we were freshman. Jim played Sax, I played trumpet. We would just go places and play.

His golfing career and accomplishments at Millikin and in Decatur were superb. He captained the Millikin golf team and I believe also won the

I cannot remember a couple more devoted to each other than Jim and Barbara. I know how much he will be missed by Barbara and the family, but also by so many more simply because of who he was. He lived his faith.
