Esther Rowland

Esther L. Rowland, age 93, of Norwalk, formerly of Collins, went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2013 at Keystone Pointe in Lagrange. She was born on September 13, 1919 in Berlin Heights and was a graduate of Berlin Heights High School. Esther was a homemaker and also served as a postal clerk for the Collins Post Office for 20 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Bunco Club and a Charter Member of the Townsend Firebelles and was their Treasurer for 35 years. Esther was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Norwalk.
She is survived by her three daughters Betty Campbell, of Wakeman, Judy Readman, of Hilliard, Ohio, and Linda (Glenn) Johns, of Norwalk, seven grandchildren, Brian Campbell, Kevin (Debbie) Campbell, Laura (Travis) Ramsey, Brittany Dodd, Megan (Greg) Palovchik, Chad Johns, and Adam (Stacy) Johns, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Merrick, her parents Lewis and Sophia (Krieg) Kuhl, a sister Mildred Dalton, two brothers Elmer and Arthur Kuhl, and a great-granddaughter Kaitlyn.
Friends may call on Friday January 18, at the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main Street, Norwalk, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00. There will be an Eastern Star Service at 7:00 pm. There will be visitation at 10:30 on Saturday followed by services at the church at 11:00 am Reverend Gary Streiff will be officiating. Burial will follow at Collins Cemetery.
