I enjoyed his dry wit, and he evidently tolerated my indifferent cooking. I call that he once invited me to a hokey game and I consented, provided he'd attend a Detroit Symphony concert with me. Both experiences were abysmal failures.
Our friendship endured after I left Detroit for retirement in Florida, though our corrrespondence slowly drifted into two communications per year:birthdays and Xmas. I am saddened by Marty's passing, but I'll retain good memories of a good friend.

So sorry to hear about Marty. Our sincerest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. I worked with Marty for many years at Federal Housing. He will always be remembered as a friend. Will miss him.
