So sorry to hear of Chris's passing. My first memories of Chris were growing up on the farm as a small child and he and his family were close neighbors of ours. After they moved away we still kept in touch as he and my brother Jim were lifelong close friends. When Chris lived in Mason City Ia. he came to our house many weekends. Many memorable memories all the years we deer hunted around Edgewood, also Chris made 2

Kathy, Butch, Pat and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss and hope that all these wonderful postings from Chris' family & friends will lighten your heavy hearts. Even though we were cousins I never got to know Chris very well. He was always off running around with my brothers at the family functions we were both at in our younger years. It saddens me that I didn't get to know my cousin who obviously was a wonderful man and husband from all the stories I have read here. He will be missed.
Sincerely,
Faye (Bockenstedt) Mraz

We were very saddened to hear the news about Chris. Because of Chris and my dads (Jim Funk) deep friendship, he was always around as my brother and I were growing up. Hunting, Fishing and having beers with the folks were very common on any given weekend around Northeast Iowa. Chris always took the time to ask and care about what was going on in our lives. Deer camp has lots of "Wegs" stories that will be shared for a lifetime. He will be missed, but the memories will remain. Sincerely, Mark and Traci Funk

Kathy,Butch, Pat and family.
I'll tell you a short story about Chris. Back years ago Chris would come back to Iowa for first season deer hunting. So we invited Chris and his buddy Jim Funk to join our hunting group, 10 guys that at the time didn't have a clue who these two guys were with the exception of myself and my brother Rock. So Chris being the new guy we put him in the worst spot possible, but Chris
