I have so many good memories about my Uncle Bud, all the way back to when he and Betty and their children lived in Shrewsbury, Mass. I remember that he built their house himself (a project my mother was skeptical about, but I liked the place). I also remember happy visits when they lived in Syracuse, Newport News, across the river in Gloucester and finally, in the last few years, at Patriots Colony. It's hard to believe they were in Virginia for almost half a century.

I think about how he and Betty made my Mom and Dad welcome in Virginia when they moved south to retire in the early 80s, and especially about how he did so much to help my Mom out in her final years, even as taking care of Betty took more and more of his time.

The last time Gevene and I saw Bud was just about 2 months ago. We had a nice time with him in his apartment, and he took us to dinner. We're so glad for having had this last visit -- just wish it didn't have to be the last one.

I'll remember a lot of things about my Uncle Bud - his love of golf (which we shared), his deep and abiding patriotism, forged in missions in his B-25, and his love and joy for his family. Bud loved to be surrounded by his kids and grandkids and he showed the same affection for the rest of his family - my kids included. They were both devastated to hear of his passing even though they didn't see him regularly. I

I guess what I'll remember most about him was his willingness to help my Mom - his sister, Eleanor - in myriad ways after my Dad passed away. Bud had his share of health problems himself but that never stopped him from checking on Mom regularly at Chambrel or visiting her during her numerous hospital stays. And he always brought his good cheer and great sense of humor with him wherever he went. I'll miss you, Bud. Rest in peace. -- Larry

Bud and Betty's love for one another was a joy and an inspiration. I'm sure he missed her terribly -- just as he will be missed terribly by all who loved him. Condolences to his entire beautiful family.

I never had the plesure to get to know you, but I do have the pleasure to love your wonderful daughter and son-law, Carol and Donny. Life is about family and your legacy is turly an honor to your memory! Our prayers are with you!

I have known Bud for a very long time. He and Betty were always full of life and enthusiasm which greatly touched all the people around them and gave us a lift. My condolences to their family. We will miss them both.
