Mr. Alvin Carneal, Jr.

Carneal, Alvin Jr. "Bootsie", 82, of Ashland, passed away on August 9, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Easter Carneal and a sister, Mary C. Hall. Mr. Carneal is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Barbara Duke "Bobbi" Carneal: daughter, Laura C. Webb of Oak Island, NC and former son-in-law, James H. Webb; grandchildren, Zachary J. and Jacob M. Webb of Berryville, VA; sister, Alice C. Dyson; adopted daughters, Sheree Bremner and Mary and Katie Schwartz; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special pet, Sparkie. Bootsie worked for over 29 years at Randolph Macon College in the maintenance department. He attended Gwathmey Baptist Church in Ashland. Bootsie was an avid NASCAR fan and he loved working in his vegetable garden. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA. Interment will be private at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
