Tignor, Alvin L., 70, of Ashland, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, George W. Tignor and his mother, Ethel Wingfield Tignor. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda S. Tignor; two sons, Steven D. Tignor, his wife Gwenn, and D. Alan Tignor; stepson Greg S. Gilliam; stepdaughter, Suzanne Purcell; two grandchildren, Douglas Lee Tignor and Stacy Nicole Tignor; also two step grandchildren, Brooke MacKenzie Purcell and Hunter Dalton Purcell. Mr. Tignor was the owner operator of Tignor Trucking Corporation which he founded in 1964 and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 11th from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Nelsen Funeral Home-Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12th. Interment will be private.
