Amelia Betty Hampton Berenson, 86, of Williamsburg died on February 17, 2013.
Born December 28, 1926, in New York, Amy was employed by Lawrence Township Public School as a school librarian. In later years, she and her husband retired to Williamsburg, VA. She was a shopper extraordinare for whom returning or exchanging purchases was equally satisfying. She loved lunch at Moon Asian Bistro and Sunday breakfast at the Chickahominy House. Her two little dogs were her "baby girls" and served as companions and pillows. Amy never forgot and always forgave. The most generous person in the world, she gave the world to her family.
She was predeceased by her son, Bruce. She is survived by her beloved husband, Herman Berenson; two daughters, Laura Berenson and her husband, Richard Strouse; and Ruth Kaiser and her husband, Dr. John Kaiser; and two grandchildren, Joshua Kaiser and his wife, Diana; and Logan Schurman.
A private family service was held. Interment will be Wednesday, February 20 at 12:00 PM at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia, VA.
