On March 7, 2012, Anne Buchanan Cingranelli of Mechanicsburg, PA was welcomed into the Lord's presence. Anne was born May 26, 1928 in Balty, VA - the daughter of William J. Buchanan and Bessie J. Young Buchanan. She attended Lady Smith High School, graduating in the class of 1945. She married shortly thereafter and moved to Rome, NY. She worked at Rome Hospital for 15 years as Admitting Supervisor. After raising a family in Rome, in 1983, Anne retired and returned to her family and friends in VA, where she lived with her husband, John, for approximately 20 years. They resided first in Ashland and then Glen Allen. While living in Virginia, Anne was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ashland. As they grew older together, Anne and John made their last move to the Harrisburg, PA area, where they lived out the remainder of their lives.
Anne was greatly loved by her family and she was deeply devoted to them and their families: Her husband, John Cingranelli, Sr (deceased); three sons: Armand (deceased), John Jr and Richard Cingranelli of Albany, NY; three daughters: Alecia Brognano of Haymarket, VA; Carol Cingranelli of Harrisburg, PA, and Judy Dudley of Raleigh, NC; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; as well as her large extended family of 2 brothers: Alvin Buchanan (deceased) and Calvin Buchanan ; 6 sisters: Ellen Satterwhite (deceased), Anna (Lulu) Dempsey (deceased), Mary (Billy) Williams (deceased), Ruth (Rusty) Van Cleave, Barbara Jean Harvey, and Phyllis Howe; sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially Ida May Nelson of Goochland, VA and Josephine Peroni of Rome, NY.
Anne's dear family and friends will miss her always. On Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. the family will receive visitors at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ashland, VA. This will be followed by the celebration of a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Signal Hill Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m.
