Arthur ("Art") Weisberg, age 88, passed away peacefully on November 24 , 2012 surrounded by his family and friends. Art, son of the late Gussie Kallman Weisberg and the late Phillip Weisberg, was born on January 6, 1924 in New York City. Art founded State Electric Supply Company in 1952 and Service Wire Company in 1968, which he owned and grew over the years. He remained active in the daily activities of both businesses until his passing. Art served in the Army with valor in Europe during World War II and graduated from City College of New York with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of B'Nai Sholom Congregation in Huntington and B'Nai Jacob Synagogue in Charleston. Art is survived by his loving wife, Joan, and his children Pamela Weisberg of Los Angeles, Martha (and Mark) Barvin of Houston, Louis (and Liz) Weisberg of Charleston, Seth (and Rivka) Weisberg of Houston, and Charlie (and Amanda) Weisberg of Phoenix, and eleven grandchildren (Simon and Kalman Weisberg, Eric, Joshua and Daniel Barvin, Trish and Marlo Weisberg, Adrian and Moses Weisberg, Asher and Samuel Weisberg). Art is also survived by his brother Fred (and Joan) Weisberg of Dallas and his brother-in-law Stephen (and Lynn) Meyer of Charleston. The family expressly thanks Barbara Adkins, Treva Sullivan, Ellen Foster, Polly Gray, Jason Hughes, Lynnie Eplin and Jennifer Gue. The funeral service will be conducted by Rabbi Victor Urecki at 12 noon on Monday November 26 at B'Nai Sholom Congregation, 949 10th Street, Huntington. Family and friends may call at the Temple from 11 am until the service. Internment will take place at the B'Nai Israel section of the Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to B'Nai Sholom Congregation Education Fund or the Huntington Museum of Art or a charity of your choice.
