Barbara Drewry Grace, native and lifetime resident of Portsmouth, died on February 18, 2013 in Williamsburg.
She was the daughter of the late Eva and John M. Drewry. She attended Longwood College and was retired from Portsmouth Public Schools in 1984, after 26 years. She was a lifelong member of Monumental United Methodist Church, a member of the Students' Club, the Wednesday Study Club, a former member of the Board and secretary of the Portsmouth Humane Society, and the first President of the Portsmouth Association of Educational Secretaries.
She was the wife of Richard Hague Grace. Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Diana and Dr. Joseph Sack of Laconia, NH, Ellen Jaronczyk of Williamsburg, VA, and Eva and Brett Shedd of Silver Spring, MD; grandsons, William and Guy Sack, Morgan and Forrest Hobbs, and John Shedd; and 8 great-grandchildren.
A private, graveside gathering will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Portsmouth to remember Baba.
