Bennie Lee Hicks, age 77, of Keysville, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hicks; a son, Franklin Hicks; three sisters, Edith Martin (Billy), Lucy Evans (Bill), Betty Church (Freddie); four brothers, Bootsie Hicks (Betty), Lynwood Hicks (Hilda), Raymond Hicks (Doris), Rhesa Hicks (Lois); and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Hicks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Mary Meadows Hicks; and two brothers, Willie Hicks and Lonnie Hicks. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte C. H. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 17, 2012, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
