Bernice M. Leake, 92, of Williamsburg, passed away on February 15, 2013. A former resident of Port Charlotte, FL, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Leake and her grandson, Adam LaPorte.

She was a caring nurse for many years in Illinois, and later enjoyed twenty years of retirement with her husband in Florida, golfing and socializing with friends there. She was an amazing mother and grandmother to all of her grandchildren. After a hurricane changed her life in Florida in 2004, Bernice moved to Williamsburg, embraced her new life at Chambrel, made many new friends, and was very active. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Bernice is survived by her children, Raymond Leake and his wife, Julie; Steven Leake and his wife, Paula; Phillip Leake and his wife, Mary Lee; Christine Barton and her husband, Stephen; Cathy Bohen and her husband, Eugene; and Mary Milkovich and her husband, Keith; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Richard Gleason and his wife, Iris.

A celebration of Bernice's life will be held in March at Chambrel in Williamsburg.
