Bernie D. Collins, 63, of Dinwiddie passed away Friday, July 2, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie D. and Marie Register Collins, and a brother, Joe Collins. Bernie was former owner and operator of Bernie’s Transmission of Hopewell for thirty years, a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam with the Green Beret Special Forces and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nancy D. Collins, daughters, Tuesday M. Wilkinson, Bobbie Jo Vohun, Rachel Renee Glott and a son, Kenny Sherman, a sister, Carolyn (Kurt) Tober, brothers, Hal (Delma) and Bobby Collins. Grandchildren, Lindsey and Taylor Spence, Cameron, Kensley and Troy Vohun, Lauren Munnley, Farrah Henley and Free Sherman, a nephew, Timmy Collins and a niece, Wendy Morgan, and many friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell and where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, July 6, 2010 with Rev.
