Brian Thomas Konieczka, of Ashland, traveled peacefully to join the Lord early Tuesday morning, July 18. His journey ended a courageous and hard fought battle against lung cancer. He was 52 years old. Brian loved life and was a faithful servant of the Lord. He cherished his wife and family, worked with incredible energy, and enjoyed traveling. Brian was predeceased by his brother, John. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; his parents, John and Kay of Cedar, MI; his children: April Ni'Mary of Richmond, Lisa Ratner (Ian) of Anchorage, AK, and Tobias of Richmond; his siblings: Joe (Chris) of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Brad (Jackie) of Phoenix, AZ, Beth Hauser (Bob) of Saginaw, MI, Cathy Griffin (Ed) and Greg (Paula) all of Traverse City, MI; along with his beautiful grandchildren, November Ni'Mary and Tenzin Orenda, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Visitation is today, Friday, at the Nelsen Funeral Home in Ashland from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service is tomorrow, Saturday, at 11am at Richmond Community Church, the Glen Allen Campus. A light reception will follow at the church. Internment for Brian will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Bon Secours Hospice, 804-627-5360 or 8580 Magellan Pkway, Richmond, VA 23227, would be appreciated.
