Buddy L. Sherrill, 72, of Henrico, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 18, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Sherrill and Estelle S. Woodson; and brother, Everette Sherrill. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Shirley G. Sherrill; daughters, Debra Tompkins (Stuart), Sandra Sherrill, and Dee Smith (Tim); grandchildren, Heather Lewis (Lavar), Stuart IV, Dana and Brianne Tompkins , Justin Foster (Kelley), Brittany Basham (Chase), and Courtney Smith; great grandchildren, L.J., Kahlia and Landen Lewis, and Blake Basham; sisters, Betty Garland (Ham), Patsy Bailey (Bernard), and Peggy Neece (Hewey); brother, Jerry Woodson (Susie); and a host of nieces and nephews. He enjoyed spending time at Hardee's Restaurant on Nine Mile Rd & Airport Dr. with his many friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, and visits. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA, where service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, February 21, 2013. Interment to follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choosing in Buddy's memory.
