Garrett, Carey Ambler, 81 of Sandston VA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 10, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Redford and their three daughters, Patty Harrington (David), Janice Garrett , Lori Vaughan (Bob) and 5 grandchildren, Ben, Chase, Kenzi, Kyle and Justin who will miss their Poppa very much! Carey is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Baynham, Jack, Willard, and Mead. He is survived by one brother Forest and many nieces, nephews, good friends and neighbors. He was born and raised in Varina and was a 1950 graduate of Varina High School. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. Then spent 50 yrs. as a course paper salesman/ manager throughout VA and NC. After retirement, he enjoyed working with Groome Transportation. He was a member of Sandston Baptist Church for 53 yrs. Serving as an usher his friendly disposition made everyone feel welcomed. Family will receive friends Saturday, November 17, 2012 between 1 and 2 p.m. at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Children's Hospital, PO Box 26384, Richmond, VA 23286-8196.
