Carter E. Humphreys
A Memorial Service for Carter E. Humphreys will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, with Rev. Matthew Frick officiating. Ennichement will follow in St. Timothy's Episcopal Church Columbarium.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service in the Parish Hall.
Carter E. Humphreys, age 80, of Alexandria passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hobson and Lorena Humphreys; his sister Reidabel Kimball and one brother Hubert Humphreys.
Carter served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 32 years of service with Vocational Rehabilitation having endless patience with mentally and physically challenged people. Carter was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Twin City Twirlers. Carter loved spending time on his farm on the weekends, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Frances Sargent Humphreys, his sons: Carter Humphreys II of Alexandria, Charles Humphreys and wife Debbie of Pineville, and Craig Humphreys of Alexandria; six grandchildren Libby Mann, Erika Humphreys, Ryan Humphreys, Dawn Cole and husband, Jamie, C.J. Humphreys, and Matt Humphreys; one great grandchild Jayla Humphreys; and three brothers: Clayton Humphreys, Hobson Humphreys, and Franklin Humphreys and wife Mae.
