Charles "Bobby" Highlander, SR., 75, of Woodford, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at his home. Born in Berea, he was an Air Force veteran and retired as a diesel mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Highlander; his daughter, Dawn Kulynych of Woodford; his son, Bill Highlander of St. Stephens Church; three sisters, Patricia Smith, Norma Woodward and Linda Cummins; a brother, Jacky Highlander; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Chuck Highlander.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22nd in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with burial to follow in Lakewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 21. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 24031 Sparta Road, Sparta, VA. 22552.
