Mr. Charles Sullivan

SULLIVAN, Charles, 84 of Mechanicsville, VA and formerly of Florida, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. He proudly served our country in both the Army and the Navy. Charles loved being a fireman. He retired from Richmond City Fire Department, where they knew him as "Gator". Charles was extremely devoted to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Helen Sullivan; sons, Neal Sullivan (Susan) and Charles Sullivan (Peggy); daughter, Cindy Shifflett (Dale); seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, including Toby and Mackenzie. The family will receive friends at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231 on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 14 at 11 AM at the Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Washington Memorial Park.
