SILVA, Daniel "Danny", 68, of Henrico, VA passed away on Monday, August 13, 2012 after fighting his illness for almost nine years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank W. and Daisy Mae Silva. Danny was a self-employed painting contractor. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Second Class Petty Officer during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Danny played and received the MVP Award on the Knox Softball team that won the U.S. Senior World Series Softball Tournament. He had a great sense of humor and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Danny is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Brenda, who became inseparable from him the last nine years of his life; his daughters, Delinda Nelson (Robbie) and Danielle Clark (David); poppy's precious grandson, Cody Daniel Nelson; papa's girls, Kallie Clark, Katlin "KK" Clark; great-grandson, Cody Daniel Nelson, Jr.; siblings, Claudia Martin, Daisy Mae Bowery, Rose Isbell, Frank E. Silva and Gordon Robinson; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Shalom Baptist Church, 6395 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, VA 23111, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hickory Hill K-9 Rescue, P.O. Box 1505, Ashland, VA 23005.
