David George McCoy, 81, of Hopewell passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Minnie McCoy and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of fifty four years, Iva C. McCoy, his sister, Catherine Wyatt and six special nieces and nephew. Mr. McCoy served his country in the U.S. Army, retired from Honeywell and a member of the Church of Christ, 4th and Cawson Street, Hopewell, VA. The family will receive from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Church of Christ with Mr. Mural Worthey officiating. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
