David Gerald Davis, 82, of Hopewell passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney Glenn and David Jerry Davis. David was a twenty two year retired U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam and Korea, and was a retired carpenter with Williams Home Repairs for twenty five years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Davis, two sons, Larry E. Davis and wife, Judy, John J. Elliott, two daughters, Lorri E. Johnson and husband, Tommy, Penny S. Daniel and husband, Chris, four grandchildren, Stephanie Coffey, Jonathan Hughes, Edward and Jeffrey Johnson, seven great grandchildren, a brother, Troy Davis and a sister, Joyce Hornsby. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue and where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm with military honors.
