I worked with his mother, Julia, at Colonial Williamsburg for a number of years. Kim was a talented and generous person though I didn't see him often after I retired. My condolences to his family and especially Roger,Barbera, and Peter.

Dave and I worked together at Service Metal for a number of years. If we ever had an issue with all most anything we would get with Dave. He would always come up with a fix. In the early days we always found time to have fun playing jokes on each other. He will be missed.

It was a great success. When I got my first professional job after college, Dave asked what I made and when I told him, he said, "You're worth more than that!" He told me to go look for a better-paying job, and I did! He was right. Time went by, I got married and moved to D.C. When we had two children, we decided it was time to get out of the city, and we were lucky enough to land back in the 'burg. The very first time I brought my two girls to the public library (which has a wonderful children's section), whom should I run into but Dave's daughter, Terry Carr, with whom I had worked at Berret's Restaurant. She had HER two girls with her, who were almost an exact match with my daughters' ages. We had quite a few playdates and it was wonderful catching up with Terry and learning about Richard's continued success as a chef. When Dave's son, David K., called me this morning, I was terribly sorry to hear of Dave's passing, but so impressed with his son's hard work to find me at such a difficult time. It is my privilege to know such a wonderful man and family. Dave, the world is the worse for your loss, but I imagine you are smiling broadly down on us with a beer in your hand, giving us a big thumb's up.

My mother lived next door to David. He was a very good neighbor and when I was in Virginia visiting my Mom I would visit with David and we had some good neighborly visits. He was always fun and enjoyable to visit with. I know you will miss him as will I. I am sorry for you loss. May God bless you and lift you up in this time of loss.
