David L. Grumet, Lt. Col., USAF, Ret., 69, of Austin, Texas died Friday, October 19, 2012. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on August 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Morris and Helen Dorio Grumet. He received his Bachelor of Science at Penn State University and his Masters of Public Administration at Golden Gate University. Mr. Grumet served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot. After his retirement he was associated with AT&T for 8 years. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Luke Grumet of Austin, Texas; daughter, Kirsten Grumet of Issaguah, Washington, daughter and son in law, Kandice and Scott Stellman of San Mateo, California and granddaughter, Davi Kate Stellman; brother, Dr. Bernard Grumet of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, brother and sister in law, Michael and Debbie Grumet of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, October 26, 2012 at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will follow. Dr. John McGowan will officiate. The family will receive friends at the mausoleum Riverview on Friday from 10:30 a.m. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
