Doris Belle Smith, 75, of Prince George passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mildred Janosky Schreckengost and her brother, Raymond Schreckengost. Doris was a avid bowler, traveled with her husband for twenty three years during his military career and crocheted afghans for McGuire Veterans Hospital. She is survived by her husband, James W. Smith, two daughters, Deborah Puetz and her husband, Bruce, Kimberly Maillard, a granddaughter, Jennifer Decker, two sisters, Shirley Randall and her husband, Thomas and Sally Kostic and her husband, William, also numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell and where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, April 16, 2011 with Rev. Billy Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
