When she first bought it, it looked nothing like the beautiful home it is today. Dot really surprised us with her flair for decorating and her DIY skills. She turned a ho-hum house into the most beautiful little home. She remodeled every square inch of that house exactly the way she said she would. It was an incredible transformation.

Dot always loved animal causes and when our team held our pet food drive to benefit Meals on Wheels in Richmond the first time, Dot not only donated food, but she bought the cutest little dog rain poncho (and hat!). She said she bought it because Charley didn't like to get wet and she thought someone else's dog would also appreciate one. She always helped spread the word when there was a pet missing or a pet that needed a home. She had a very kind heart, especially when it came to animals. My husband, Mark and I will miss her and remember her fondly.

Dot truly was a treasure and will be missed. I met Dot when she walked into Petite Pet Inn with her beloved dog Charlie. My how she loved him. Charlie was a regular here at the inn and we were blessed to see and chat with Dot on a regular basis. And to Charlie she was the light of his life. I did not know Dottie very well personally but I certainly heard a lot about her. My sister, Judy, loved Dottie and talked about her often. Judy recently made contact with her after many years, and I am so glad that happened. I was friends with her sister, Julie, in high school and want to express my condolences to Julie and her family. The loss of a sibling is profound, and my prayers go out for them.

Dottie was a very special person and kind hearted person. We were in school together and she taught me to play a few easy songs on piano. She was very good at many things, but always a good friend was the top of the list. She could always make you laugh. She would get a runny nose and say she needed a nose transplant. I will miss her and she is with God and in peace.

I tried over the years to connect with her. Through Facebook I found her brother and I was able to send ole Dot a couple of emails....only to learn that she had been battling the lung disease. The news broke my heart! Just this evening I sent her an email and then found out from a fellow classmate that she had heard about Dottie's passing. With the background of our relationship given....I want to say Dottie's personality and free spirit was contagious. She was a tremendous part of my Hs and college life. I will NEVER forget her and I regret so much I didn't connect with her sooner. My sincere sorrow and sympathy go out to her family and her current friends. So sorry to hear of Dottie's death. I know she will really be missed. Phil's and thoughts and prayers are with you. She was too young to die.

I had met Dottie and her family a few times when she visited her Mother in Lewisburg. She and I held a kinship in the fact that we both were battling Lung Cancer. She was a very sweet and caring lady, and know she will be missed by her family and friends! I was shocked, and it broke my heart to see her lose her battle. I can surely relate to the battle that she fought! I know that she is with God now, and will no longer have to suffer.

I am truly saddened from the passing of a great friend and courageous lady...She will be truly missed but we know she is not suffering anymore...She gave her best shot with this disease of Cancer........I love her phone conversations and loved to see her when she visited her Mother, Miss Wilda, whom I am a caregiver of.......I will and will continue to take care of her Mother as long as God gives me breath.............Love and prayers to family and friends..........God has another Angel............Rest In Peace...
