Earl M. Wysong Jr., 87, of Williamsburg, passed away on August 1, 2012. He was formerly a resident of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and Myrtle Beach, SC.

Earl retired from the U.S. Air Force, having served over 19 years as a pilot and went on to work as an auditor for the federal government and as a college professor. Active in many civic and community organizations, Mr. Wysong was also a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Williamsburg.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Artz Wysong; his daughters, Joy Gordy and her husband, Fred, and Cheryl Dankulich and her husband, George; four grandchildren, Adam Dankulich, Sara Dankulich, Tiffany Gordy, and Amanda Beckett; as well as three great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Landon, and Myles.

A graveside service and interment is planned for Monday, January 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Pkwy, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
