On Tuesday, December 11, 2012 beloved husband, father and grandfather, Earl R. Jeter, Sr., passed from this world surrounded by his loving wife and children. Born January 18, 1923, dad served honorably in World War II and Korea for the U.S. Navy. He is preceded in death by his eldest son, Irvin "Buddy" Jeter (Diane). Earl is survived by his devoted wife, Clara; children, Denise (Jimmy), Earl Jr. "Rusty" (Pat), Kirk (Anita), Angela; grandchildren, Sherry, Jade, James "Trey", Rachel, Earl III "Trois", Courtney, Kelsea, Delaney, Nevaeh; great-grandson, Riley; brothers, Arzie and Norman; sisters, Dorothy, Edith and Bernice and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Our father will be remembered for his zest for life, his numerous friends, his love of golf and the love for his family. He will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
