Edwin Charles Krampitz, Sr., 68, of Hopewell passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 at his home. Mr. Krampitz was preceded in death by his parents, Edward August and Evelyn Lee Krampitz. Edwin was a retired machinist from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA with over thirty years service, associated with the Antique Farm Machinery at the Virginia State Fair and Chippokes. He is survived by two sons, Edwin Charles Krampitz, Jr. and Carl M. Krampitz, a granddaughter, Alexis Marie Krampitz, two sisters, Barbara Ward and Leona McLemore and her husband, Troy. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be private.
