Surrounded by her family, Eleanor M. Troha passed away peacefully under hospice care on December 22, 2012 at Sentara Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg. She lived most of her life in the Washington D.C. area and moved to Williamsburg in 1997. She was actively involved in church and community organizations both in Williamsburg and Potomac, and selflessly volunteered her time to numerous groups and causes. A dedicated wife and mother, her true passions and priorities were always her faith, family and friends.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her son Tom; her parents, Louis and Charlotte Crook; and her sister Josephine Crook Coluzzi. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Chuck; son John and his wife Carol; son Ed and his wife Pidge; daughter Charlotte and her husband Richard; daughter Teresa and her husband Colonel Doug Thomas, USMC. She was the proud grandmother of nine: Colin; David and his wife Lauren; Dan Troha, MD; Molly; Lieutenant Wes Shields, USN; Louisa and her husband Jeff; Doug, Steven and Lisa. She is also survived by her older sister, Mary Charlotte Crook of Potomac, MD.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27 from 6-8 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 28 at 9 AM at Saint Bede Catholic Church, Williamsburg. Interment will occur at Saint Gabriel Cemetery in Potomac, MD, preceded by a funeral mass on December 29 at 12 PM at Our Lady of Mercy Church.
