Ernest Eugene Sale

So sorry for such a great loss. Eugene was loved and respected by many. I remember as a child growing up my father would go next door almost every night to Hayden's store to hang out with Eugene and Paige. I never could figure out what they found to talk about every night except trucks which they all had in common. Daddy would make homemade ice cream and so enjoyed inviting them to have some. Good days, good people and good memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Eugene was one of my Pop's (Steve Kulynych's) dearest friends!

One day Dad shared with me that he wished he could see his good friend Eugene one more time before he left this world . . . Dad was extremely ill due to total kidney and pancreas failure and knew his time was limited.

After Pop made this wish known to me, I immediately made it my business to go down the country to locate Eugene. Although I did not know

Eugene was one of my Pop's (Steve Kulynych's) dearest friends!

One day Dad shared with me that he wished he could see his good friend Eugene one more time before he left this world . . . Dad was extremely ill due to total kidney and pancreas failure and knew his time was limited.

After Pop made this wish known to me, I immediately made it my business to go down the country to locate Eugene. Although I did not know Eugene personally, I remembered as a little girl the SALEs and had a vague idea of where they lived. I found them . . . not Eugene but his grandson. Of course neither of us knew each other but I relayed Pop's wish to him and asked that he please relay it to Eugene . . . he did!

Dennis, Eugene's son, drove him 5.5 hours just to visit my Pop. Pop was ever so delighted and surprised when he looked up and saw Eugene standing at their side door. Pop exclaimed to Mom "You'll never guess who's here . . . EUGENE SALE!"

Pop never stopped talking about their visit - thank you Dennis - you made my Pop's day by bringing your Dad to visit him!

Although I did not really know Eugene personally I highly respected him just because of how much my Pop thought of, cared for and loved him.

After Pop died when I would go down the country to visit his final resting place or place flowers there in his memory, I would stop by to visit Eugene because I could forget how much joy he brought to my Pop. By doing so I got to know Eugene personally and I can see why my Pop thought the world of him! In such a short time I also grew to love him.

This world has lost another gem, Eugene, and God has gained another angel! Eugene has now joined Pop in Heaven along with all their other family and friends who have gone on before them.

My sincerest condolences and I ask God to comfort as only he can, peace and blessing to Eugene's family - Brenda, Dennis, Russell, and all the others whom I cannot name.
