Dyson, Floyd Lee, 94, of Hanover, passed away on June 4, 2012. He was born in Caroline County, Virginia on July 30, 1917 to Charles and Mary Dyson. He was predeceased by his wife, Bertha Kelly Phillips Dyson; also, three brothers, one sister, one half sister, and one nephew. Mr. Dyson owned and operated Dyson's Store near Hanover Courthouse for over 72 years. He was one of the founding members of the Hanover Courthouse Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Dyson Nodler (Robert) of Williamsburg, VA, and Carolyn Dyson Redmon (Glenn) of Mechanicsville, VA; four grandchildren, Robert C. Nodler, II (Maria) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Kevin R. Nodler (Susan) of St. Paul, Minnesota, Shawn F. Redmon (Lisa) of Aylett, VA, and Kelley R. Kirby of Aylett, VA; seven great grandchildren, Sam and Jack Nodler, Alyssa Grinnan, Randall and McKinzey Kirby, Dylan Redmon and Maggie Nodler.; one half sister, four nieces, one nephew, and many, many loyal friends; also, two very special cats, Hitty and Baby. The family will be receiving friends from 2-4 and 6-8PM on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA, where services will be held on Saturday, June 9th at 2:00PM. Interment will be held at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Hanover Humane Society, 12190 Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005.
