Gary Lee Reinhardt 73, of Decatur, passed away at 11:41 p.m., Monday January 28, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A service to celebrate Gary's life will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Memorials may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at

Gary was born July 27, 1939 in Decatur the son Dale and Alma (Bertle) Reinhardt. He married Colleen A. Dowd on August 1, 1959. She preceded him in death on April 8, 2006. He was a retired Electrician working for the IBEW Local #146. Gary was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge. In his younger years he was a golden glove Boxer. He was an avid golfer and Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and grilling out with his family and friends. He also enjoyed shooting pool and was a member of the APA.

Surviving is his children: Karla DeMent and her husband Larry of Long Creek, Brad Reinhardt of Mt. Zion, Cindy Wilhelm and Tom of Long Creek; grandchildren: Andrea DeMent, Megan Wilhelm, Brianna Snyder, Amber Wilhelm and Courtney Wilhelm; brothers: David Reinhardt and his wife Donna of Decatur and Mitch Reinhardt of Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital and especially the staff in ICU South for all their care and compassion shown to them.
