Godsey, Gerald L. Sr., 67, of Henrico, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin Lee Godsey, his mother Alice Childress and his sister Darlene Fox. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nina J. Godsey; a daughter, Theresa Godsey; a son, Gerald L. Godsey "Jerry", Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Shelia Godsey; two grandsons, Justin Lee and Jacob Lee Godsey; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members. Gerald retired from Blakemore Construction Company. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012. Interment will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
