Gladys Dawson Marsh Rayhorn, of Richmond, Virginia, answered her Lords call, December 31 2012, surrounded by her family and friends at Memorial Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leo Marsh Sr. and Dr. James Rayhorn, and her sister Doris Eubank. Survivors include her daughters, Millie M. Schultz (Chuck) and Debbie Pickels (Ken); son, Lee Marsh (Carrie); grandsons, Brooks Pickels, Logan Picklels, Zane Schultz, and Jake Schultz; granddaughter, Emily Marsh; great grandson, Hudson Pickels; great granddaughter Makenzie Pickels; brothers, Claude Dawson Jr. (Ruth), Robert Dawson (Susan), and Jerry L. Dawson (Patsy), along with numerous children, grandchildren and great grandchildren from the Rayhorn Family and her devoted friend August R. Nilson "Bob". She worked 38 years for Ramon W. Andrews Insurance Agency. She served as deaconess at Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and played hand bells. She was a member of the Varina Lions Club and the Red Hat Society. Her Kindness and warm smile will be missed. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA., where her Funeral Service will be held 2pm Saturday, January 5, 2013 with interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Varina Lions Club, P.O. Box 38292, Richmond VA 23231.
