Helen Marie Pope , 89, of Ashdown, AR passed away January 3, 2013 in Texarkana, Texas.

Mrs. Pope was born July 9, 1923 in Ashdown, AR. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Ashdown, AR. Helen and her late husband Wesley established Shur-Way Grocery Store in 1952. She loved all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, all people, and flowers. Mrs. Pope is preceded in death by, her husband, Wesley M. Pope Sr.; brother, Leslie Patterson; and sister, Ida Mae Patterson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald W. Pope & wife Judith of Pearland, TX, Wesley M. Pope Jr. & wife Penny of Ashdown,AR; two daughters, Linda Sue Pope of Ashdown, AR, and Judy Bryan of Ashdown,AR; two sisters, Etta Lee Dumas of Ashdown, AR, Dorothy Atel of Ashdown, AR; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

Visitaion will be Friday January 4, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR.

Funeral Services are Saturday January 5, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Madden Funeral Home Chapel, in Ashdown, AR with Bro. Lester Rogers & Bro. Don Pope officiating.
Burial will follow at Ashdown Cemetery in Ashdown,AR. Arrangements are under the direction of Madden Funeral Home.
