CREECH, Henry, 72, departed this life on July 26th, 2012. He was born on October 11, 1939 to parents, Floyd and Lillie Creech in Harlan County, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Cecil and her husband Derek of Hanover; grandchildren, Ashley Peterson and husband David, Glenn Cecil and wife Claire, Tabatha Regensburg and husband Kevin, and Brittany Cecil; six great-grandchildren, Kimberly, D.J., Desean, C.J.; step grandchildren, Skylar and B.J. He is also survived by his brothers John Creech and wife Betty of Mechanicsville, Steve Creech of Montpelier, Joe Creech and wife Helen of Hanover; sisters, Lene Sharpe of Glen Allen, Roxie Miracle and husband Bill of Dunsville, VA; also, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In his early years, Henry worked and travelled with several carnivals, including Cetlin & Wilson shows, Daigler, and M & D shows. Later on he chose to let the Carnival life roll on without him to please his daughter who asked that he not go back out on the road anymore. With that, he went on to develop his own independent salvage business in Ashland, Hanover, and surrounding Counties. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, the love of family and friends, watching the kids have fun, playing cards, and watching NASCAR Racing. Dale Earnhardt #3 and Dale Earnhardt Jr. #88 were his all time favorites. He liked participating in turkey shoots and showered loved ones with the many prizes he won. Henry was generous beyond measure and had a heart of gold. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives intertwined with his. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Interment will follow at Kenwood United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family.
