HOWARD M. KESSELL
FAYETTEVILLE – Howard Malcolm Kessell, 80, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Fayette Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Fayetteville.
Born on April 28, 1932 in Elkview; he was the son of the late Opie and Ruby Blackwell Kessell.
Mr. Kessell honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War Conflict. While living in Michigan, he was manager at various GM auto plants. He started the Little League baseball and football league in Durand, MI.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Howard Malcolm Kessell Jr. in 1998.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Wanda Kessell of Fayetteville; son, Richard Kessell of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law, Lisa Kessell in Charlotte, NC; brother, Lewis Kessell and wife Linda of Mesquite, Nevada; caregiver and friend, Annette Evans of Oak Hill; grandson, Joshua Kessell of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Richelle Kessell of Lewisburg, TN; grandson, Spencer Kessell of Lewisburg, TN; two favorite cats, Baby and Moonbeam; and a host of other family, friends, residents, and caregivers at Fayette Nursing and Rehab.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 PM, Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
In keeping with his request, he will be cremated following the visitation.
