Howell "Howie" Farrell, Sr. unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Age 67 years. Son of the late James Levi and Katherine Howell Farrell. Loving husband of 46 years to Gloria M. Farrell. Beloved father of Howell "Howie" Farrell, Jr. and Kristi Farrell Kline (Scott). Adoring grandfather of Kaegan James Farrell. Brother of Linda Stock (the late Arthur), Paralee "Pary" Turner (Glenn), Charlotte Wolfe, Lesa Raia (Mark), and the late Katherine "Kathy" Corona. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Howie was an avid Tulane fan. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was very proud of his Irish heritage, and founded the New Galway Blazers Marching Club.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 2:00PM. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM.
