Irene D. Wilson, 90, a lifelong resident of Hopewell, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years Jasper S. Wilson, parents; Joseph E. and Mattie Newton Dabney, two sisters; Bertha Dabney Crider, Hazel Dabney Martin, and brother; Joseph Russell Dabney.
She is survived by sister; Dorothy Dabney Corum, sister-in-law Lucille Lee and her husband Curtis, three brother-in-Laws; Paul Wilson, Bobby R. Martin, Clide L. Crider two nieces; Carol Hamilton Farmer and her husband Durwood, Teresa Bausell Brummett, four nephews; Kevin Douglas, Bruce Craig, and Larry Page Hamilton, Joseph Ray Martin and his Wife Janet, great nephew; Russell Craig Hamilton several other great nieces and nephews and family and friends. She retired from Allied Fibers Chesterfield Plant (Honeywell) after 25 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A service will be held 6:00 PM with a visitation to follow until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Nelsen Funeral Home 214 N. 6th Ave., Hopewell VA, 23860. Interment will be held 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Southlawn Memorial Park.
