Mr. James Allen Smith, Jr.

James Allen Smith, Jr., 71, of Henrico, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012. He is preceded in death by his father, James Allen Smith, Sr. and mother, Helen Frank Smith. A self-employed roofing contractor, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Scruggs Smith; two brothers, Robert C. Smith (Diane) and Paul D. Smith (Joyce); daughters, Cherie Smith Gits and Jodi Lynn Smith; two grandchildren, Michael Brandon Smith and Liam Alan Hughes. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 followed by interment in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA. "Solox has left the planet".
