James Lewis, known as Jesse by all who knew and loved him, blessed heaven with his presence on August 28, 2012. He was born October 22, 1936 in Sarasota, Florida to the late Eddie and Anna Belle Lewis.
Jesse served in the Army and later made Williamsburg his home in the early 70s. He was a dining room Captain at the Williamsburg Inn and retired after 20 years in 1999.
In addition to his loving and devoted wife, Mildred Lewis, Jesse leaves to cherish his memory seven children, Debbie Harvey (Ricky), Stephanie Hobbs (Ed), Avil Wallace, Rodney Jefferson, Donovan Lewis (Annette), Archie Jefferson (Julie), Brad Jefferson (Stephanie); two brothers, Johnny Lewis (Joyce), and William "Turk" Lewis; friend for life, Frank Gaines; fifteen grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 1 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Bethel Restoration Center, 6205 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, where the service will take place at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
