James R. Coker, Sr. 92, of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2012. A loving husband, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Coker. He is survived by his children, Elaine Coker LaRussa and husband, Tony, James R. Coker, Jr. and wife, Lorraine; four grandchildren, Bianca and Devon LaRussa, Desiree Jones, and Ian Coker; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Amberly Jones, Zander Coker, and Evan Coker. Mr. Coker was a member of Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church for 63 years. Mr. Coker was a retired employee of VEPCO and served in the U.S. Army. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231, where a service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment following in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to St. Jude Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
