FRERE, Jean Clark, born in Washington, D.C., formerly of La Plata, MD. and Fort Washington, MD., died March 16, 2012 at her home in Ashland, VA. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Francis B. Frere; her loving children, Anne Baum (Martin), Francis B. Frere, Jr. (Laura), Patrick Frere, and Jennifer Larson (Patrick); her beloved 14 grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas, William and Andrew Baum; Andrew, Erin and Joshua Frere; Thomas, Samuel, Meghan and Mary Frere; and Emma, Sarah and William Larson. She is also survived by her mother, Jean Davis; sisters, Judith Clark O'Connor (Michael), Bonita Clark, Nancy C. Hinson (Robert), and Patricia C. Crutchfield (Richard); and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Roger Clark; and her grandparents, Andrew Jackson and Mary Louise Clark, and Morton and Jeanne Willoughby. Mrs. Frere formerly worked for the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of the Navy, and was a parishioner of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ashland, VA. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 19, from 2 to 4 p.m., with prayers at 2 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 South Washington Highway, Ashland, VA. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Ashland VA., where the family will also receive friends one hour prior to services. The interment will follow at 2 p.m. at the Holy Ghost Church Catholic Cemetery, Issue, MD.
