Joan was born in Niagara Falls,NY to James and Clare (Martin) Roche. Her siblings were Joseph and Clare. Joan attended Stella Niagara catholic school. She was a long time resident of Grand Island, NY where she raised her family. She was active in Bridge club and a long time bowler. She also worked many years at Jenss on Niagara Falls Blvd. She spent the last 15 years in Albany, NY and Alexandria, VA. She is survived by her children Lonnie (Geoff) Smith of Ponte Vedra, FL; Joan (Patty) Howe of Alexandria, VA; Hollis J. Boss of Santa Barbara, CA; Roxanne (Arthur) Speck of Albany, NY; and Richard (Debbie) Boss of Grand Island,NY. She was predeceased by her daughter Sheila (Chuck) Hoorwitz of Niskayuna, NY. Mrs. Boss has eleven grandchildren and one great grandson. She will be greatly missed.
