OLMSTEAD, John A. "Jack", 73, of Caroline County, formerly of Dunkirk, MD and Washington D.C., passed away on August 6, 2012. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mindy Sue and a spouse, Diana Olmstead. He is survived by his wife, Jane Cooley Olmstead; daughters, Kristin Sue Olmstead Perdue and her husband, Michael Timothy Perdue, Jessica Decker Hawk and her husband Allen Hawk, and Janet Decker; grandchildren, Michael and Kara Perdue, A.J. and Gabriella Hawk; sister, Dorothy Grossman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was a former NCIS Agent and a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. He was also a Clinical Christian Counselor. He was a member of the Chesapeake Church in Owings, MD, and a member of the NCIS Association. Jack received his Bachelors Degree from University of Maryland, his Masters Degree from Southeastern University and his PHD from Cornerstone University. Jack was also a Navy Veteran. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA, with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/.
