John Frank Bellio, 81 years of age, went quietly to heaven at Hospice House on September 12, 2012. He is survived by his love and best friend, Ellen, known as Ellie, his loving children, Thomas (Dawn) and Elaine Dronzek (Peter), the sunshine of his life, granddaughter, Amanda, and a special niece, Barbara Daniello. His parents, Concetta and Joseph Bellio and sister, Helen, predeceased him. He is survived by a brother, Frank and a sister, Lucky Ackerly, of New York.
John moved to Williamsburg from Westchester County, NY in 1998 and immediately became a volunteer at Colonial Williamsburg. He was also an usher at the 9:00 AM mass at St. Bede for over twelve years and really enjoyed joining all of his buddies for Friday bowling. He was extremely proud to have served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a man who enjoyed his family, his work, and his friends in a kind and gentle way. He will be greatly missed.
The family expresses special thanks for the kindness and prayers received during his illness and the compassionate and special treatment shown to all of us by the staff at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center and Hospice House of Williamsburg. God bless all of you.
A memorial mass will be offered on Saturday, September 15 at 11:00 AM at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd, Williamsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House, 4445 Powhatan Pkwy, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Online condolences may be expressed at www.nelsencares.com.
