John R. Milligan, 65, of Williamsburg, died on July 15, 2012. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.
John was an accountant for over 25 years at the National Center for State Courts in Williamsburg. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. As an avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Denver Broncos and the Philadelphia Phillies, as well as playing golf and softball with friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lynn; his son, Todd and his wife, Jessica; his daughter, Katie Powers, and her husband, Spencer; and one grandson, Jacob Milligan.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19 from 6-8 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg. A private service will be held on Friday, July 20 at 11 AM at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House and Support Care, 4445 Powhatan Pkwy, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Online condolences may be expressed at www.nelsencares.com.
