John Wilson "Dutch" Glassco, 71 of Varina, departed this life July 14, 2012 after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha Watkins Glassco and brothers, Pete, Buck and Sonny Glassco, and was a retired employee of the State of Virginia.

Survivors include daughters, Stephenne Alethea Glassco and Mackenzie Tyler Glassco and son Timothy J. Glassco, sister Mildred Ann Young and a number of special nieces and nephews. John will be remembered for his southern cooking, creative gardening, love of family and caring ways.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 11 AM in the Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park.
